All My Artworks Are
Inspired by Story
I am inspired by the stories I find in old photographs and vintage garments, the magic symbolism in birds, the phrasing of mathematics and old languages, the memories of childhood and the complexities of maternal connections, and the mysteries and hidden truths in myths. Using paint and pencil, found and hand-crafted materials, I give the stories substance and presence.

Mixed Media
"She Flies With Her Own Wings" transforms a vintage purse into a sculpture celebrating feminine autonomy. It will be on view at the Anton Center in a member's exhibit sponsored by the Detroit Society of Women Painters & Sculptors.
Recent Artworks on Display
New works and studio favorites have been on display in exhibitions statewide. Visit "See Gallery" for the portals to see more paintings, drawings, and mixed media work.

Paintings
"So Proudly We Hail" references Jaspar John's 1954 painting, "Flag." It will be displayed at Swords Into Plowshares Peace Center and Gallery juried show, "Artists at Work."
My Story
I am an explorer of place and time, interpreting and distilling the physical and mystical world through oil painting, drawing, and mixed media work. My themes of home and identity have a foundation in literature, poetry, Classical and Roman Catholic mythology and traditions, and objects and artifacts found in the natural world.
“Caught in the cycle of birth, death, & regeneration, we are all on our way to new, imaginative places of existence. With transcendent moments, we journey from the mundane to the memorable and from the mortal to the mystical.”
